Volunteer Opportunities

The Children’s Discovery Museum of West Virginia relies on its volunteers to help fulfill its mission. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities at the CDM and we can help you choose the one that is right for you.

Weekly Volunteers:
Tuesday-Saturday
Anytime between 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Assist staff in a variety of tasks. Play and learn with children in our museum, implement crafts, or work behind the scenes to help create exhibits and craft materials.  

Parent Volunteers:
Tuesday-Saturday
Anytime between 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Bring your child with you while you volunteer and receive free entry to the museum on the day of volunteering. Show other children and parents how to utilize our exhibits while playing with your child.

Birthday Party Volunteers:
Weekends
Help a child get the most from their Birthday party. Volunteers assist with crafts, set-up and clean-up.

Special Events Volunteers:
Weekends
Assist in a variety of ways during our special events such as Science Day, Space Day and many others.

The museum is also looking for professionals to donate their time. If you are an accountant, carpenter, or have other specialized skills that the museum may be able to utilize, please contact us.
